Holistic pet services and natural wellness products launching in 2026
Purple Tree Pets is expanding in 2026 with a dedicated range of holistic pet services and natural wellness products designed to support emotional, behavioural and physical wellbeing. Guided by my qualifications in veterinary nursing, clinical aromatherapy and holistic animal therapies, these services are offered as supportive care alongside traditional veterinary care and behavioural support.
Holistic therapies work with the animal as a whole, recognising the connections between emotional wellbeing, behaviour, physical comfort, and environmental and nutritional influences, while gently encouraging the body’s natural ability to maintain balance.
Holistic services offered through Purple Tree Pets may include holistic mobile veterinary nursing services, consult-based animal aromatherapy and reiki energy support. These offerings are designed to provide gentle, tailored care that supports each pet’s individual circumstances and comfort.
Reiki for pets

Reiki is a gentle, energy-based therapy that promotes relaxation, emotional ease and energetic balance. It supports the natural flow of energy through the body, helping animals release tension and settle more comfortably.
As a certified Reiki master and animal energy healing practitioner, I act as a gentle facilitator, creating space for the animal’s body and energy to restore balance naturally. Pets engage at their own pace, supporting emotional, energetic and physical harmony.
Reiki sessions are offered in your pet’s home to limit the stress of travel and allow them to remain in the environment where they feel most comfortable. Distance reiki is also available for pets who benefit from receiving support remotely. In-home Reiki can be incorporated into my other pet care and feeding services, making it convenient and stress-free for both pet and owner.
Pets often respond well to reiki because it is non-invasive and respects their personal boundaries. Sessions may be offered through light touch or hands-off methods, depending on the animal’s preference.
Reiki may be helpful for :
- Pets who are anxious, stressed or overwhelmed.
- Pets recovering from illness or injury.
- Pets who are ageing or experiencing mobility changes.
- Pets who are adjusting to new environments.
- Pets who are sensitive, reactive or overly stimulated.
- Supporting pets, owners and staff during veterinary procedures and euthanasia.
Aromatherapy for pets

Aromatherapy uses plant-based extracts, essential oils and hydrosols to support comfort, relaxation and overall wellbeing. While many people associate aromatherapy with pleasant scents, it is far more than aroma alone. Essential oils contain complex natural compounds with specific therapeutic actions that may soothe the nervous system, support healthy skin, ease mild discomfort, promote emotional balance and encourage a sense of calm in animals.
Because animals are highly sensitive to aromatic and chemical constituents, safe formulation is essential. As a certified clinical aromatherapist, I have specialised training in species-safe essential oils, correct dilutions, appropriate delivery methods and gentle, non-invasive application. Every blend is formulated with respect for each species’ physiology and sensitivities, focusing on safety, suitability and the individual needs of every pet.
Hydrosols for cats and small animals
Hydrosols are the gentle aromatic waters produced during steam distillation. They contain only a small amount of plant constituents, making them far milder than essential oils. Hydrosols are particularly valuable for cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and other small pets who require very gentle aromatic support. They offer calming, soothing and refreshing benefits in a soft, safe and species-appropriate way.
Flower essences

Flower essences are a form of naturopathy for animals, also known subtle vibrational remedies. Flower essences are created by capturing the energetic imprint of flowers in water. They contain no essential oils, fragrance or plant biochemistry. Instead, they act on the emotional and energetic layers of wellbeing.
Because they work on a vibrational level rather than a biochemical one, flower essences can be safely used alongside veterinary care, medications and behavioural programs. They do not interfere with pharmaceuticals and are suitable for animals of all ages and sensitivities.
I work with both Australian Bush Flower Essences and Bach Flower Remedies to create personalised blends for pets. Each essence is chosen based on the pet’s behaviour, emotional state, and any observable physical cues. Signs such as restlessness, tension or shifts in energy help inform the blend, ensuring it supports the animal’s overall emotional balance and wellbeing.
Flower essences may support pets with:
- Anxiety and emotional stress
- Over-excitability and restlessness
- Fearfulness, timidity or reactivity
- Adjustment to rehoming, change or grief
- Confidence for sensitive or traumatised animals
- Emotional stability and natural energetic balance
- Calming pets for veterinary visits
- Preparing for euthanasia and passing
Their gentle nature makes them a useful complementary support for pets undergoing behavioural training, recovering from illness, or experiencing lifestyle transitions.
Therapeutic formulation consultations

For animals needing more personalised support, therapeutic aromatherapy and vibrational formulations will be created through a consultation rather than sold directly online. This ensures that any tailored products are developed specifically for your pet’s individual situation while also meeting the regulatory requirements of the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA).
These consultations are not designed to diagnose medical conditions. Instead, they focus on gathering information about your pet’s history, sensitivities, environment and wellbeing so that safe, species-appropriate ingredients and delivery methods can be selected. During a consult, I assess the most appropriate aromatic components, hydrosols or gentle application approaches and prepare a customised blend that supports your pet in a compliant and responsible manner.
Pet end-of-life doula

Purple Tree Pets will be offering compassionate pet end-of-life doula and bereavement support for families navigating the final stages of a beloved animal’s life, as well as the period of grief that follows. This service supports both pets and their people through the emotional, practical and energetic aspects of the end of life journey, while working respectfully alongside veterinary care.
Care is provided in the pet’s home where possible, helping to create a calm, familiar environment that reduces stress and supports comfort during this sensitive time. Support is non-clinical and guided by presence, compassion and respect for each family’s wishes, beliefs and individual needs.
End-of-life doula support may include:
- Emotional and practical support for pet owners before, during and after a pet’s passing.
- Calm, supportive presence during the dying process, where appropriate.
- Guidance and education around what to expect during end of life transitions.
- Support for anticipatory grief and emotional processing.
- Creating a peaceful environment with holistic modalities to support comfort and emotional ease.
- Assistance with practical after-care considerations, including discussing options such as cremation and memorial choices.
- Space for quiet reflection, ritual or personal moments, if desired.
Where appropriate and requested, end of life support may gently incorporate complementary holistic services already offered by Purple Tree Pets, including:
- Reiki: provided in-home or via distance, to encourage relaxation, emotional ease and energetic balance.
- Flower Essences: selected to support emotional balance for both pets and their owners.
- Aromatherapy: applied with care and sensitivity, and always guided by the pet’s comfort, preferences and individual needs.
These supportive services are provided as complementary care and do not replace veterinary treatment, medical decision-making or professional bereavement counselling.
Following a pet’s passing, bereavement support may continue and can include emotional support through grief, gentle guidance during the early stages of loss, and the option to use our existing memorial services to honour, remember and celebrate the life of a cherished companion.
This service recognises the profound bond between pets and their people and aims to provide calm, compassionate support through one of the most tender stages of pet guardianship.
